Clegg Bamber Trustee

Clegg Bamber

Trustee

Clegg joined the board of Trustees in October 2021, after volunteering at Big Breakfast Plus since 2017, shortly after moving to Swindon from Portsmouth.

Find out more about Clegg

Whilst in Portsmouth, Clegg sat on the operations committee of Helping Hands Portsmouth which was an organisation that provided food and hot drinks to the homeless community of Portsmouth.

Whilst working on the operations committee, the organisation scaled up from providing an evening meal on one night a week to delivering a breakfast service three times a week and an outreach service ensuring those who were homeless outside of the city centre still recieved food, water and hot drinks.

Further, Clegg co-founded the Red Box Project which had the aim of ensuring no young person missed out on their education due to having their period. When the Red Box Project was set up, it had the ambition of ensuring all schools and colleges in Portsmouth had access to period products, free of charge. However, the project soon scaled and covered the UK and places overseas.

In 2021, Clegg was honoured with an MBE for services to education for his work in co-founding the Red Box Project and successfully campaigning to secure policy change meaning government now funds period products in schools.
